The brief

Dyson has worked with its design partners to take comfort and wellbeing of their employees very seriously. Polyvox worked with MPA (Head Contractor), SLR Consulting (Acoustic Engineers) and other project stakeholders to provide an effective sound masking system design, and ensure performance targets were met or exceeded. Polyvox installed the industry leading sound masking system LogiSon Acoustic Network throughout the Dyson Workplace office.

Our solution

The system creates a uniform ambient noise level, and a conditioned acoustic environment as well as providing the occupants with a comfortable workplace by minimising distractions and intrusive sounds. It is especially effective in the open-plan areas where other acoustic treatments are limited, and speech privacy relies mainly on ambient noise levels.

The LogiSon Acoustic Network replaced the existing base build sound masking system which was located under the access floor. The result is higher levels of performance and zoning capabilities, as well as being converted to a highly effective ceiling mounted system. The new system designed and installed by Polyvox presents state-of-the-art performance, supplementing the acoustic design of the spaces, and ensuring the client gets the most out of their space, and does right by their most important asset- their employees.

Results

The conditioned spaces included private offices, open plan working areas, and several meeting and conference rooms. The sound masking system was carefully tuned to bring the background noise levels to the levels required in the Australian Standard AS/NZS 2107:2016, providing a consistent engineered background level that aids in masking speech and other distracting noise sources.
